Finding Humanism from the Eastern Most

This article reviews Takeo Nakano's design projects, analyzes his methods, and explores the cultural background that shaped his data visualization approach: the Japanese cultural background. In addition, my goal is to reveal the commonalities and differences in their design philosophies, among which Giorgia Lupi's data humanism is the main idea, Tufte's modernist design ideas, and Catherine D'Ignazio and Lauren F. Klein's data feminism is the main idea. Finally, based on the above comparison, this article summarizes some data visualization techniques that designers can refer to.
